Fakenham

A single-storey dwelling designed to take advantage of the southerly aspect of the plot. The form of two blocks of accommodation with curved metal roofs, linked by two contrasting green-roofed sections, to sub-divide the massing and to create an exciting progression of spaces through the building. To accentuate the contrast, the ‘infill’ sections are finished in a dark colour to contrast with the predominantly white render finish of the exterior walling. An extended roof to the garage creates a sheltered sitting-out space surrounded by a colonnade of columns, which step across the crinkle-crankle garden wall to intersect the form of the walled enclosure with the shape of the roof and which forms an interesting approach to the proposed entrance gates from the shared driveway.
